My journey began in 2015, after accepting a job at the local university, I moved from Butte, Montana to Texarkana, Texas. Shortly after settling in, I started noticing more and more Facebook posts about abandoned and stray dogs in the area. Drawn to help, I began volunteering with the Texarkana Animal League, and that’s what set me off on the incredible adventure I’m on today.
Over the years, I’ve rescued animals, worked with local rescues, fostered, rehabilitated, and helped countless dogs find loving homes. Some of this work is supported by local rescues, while much of it I fund out of my own pocket. Out of this passion, The Doghouse – Foster & Adoption was born, along with a new adventure in 2025, The Doghouse – Crafty Creations. Through these efforts, I aim to provide safe homes for pets while using my crafting skills to generate income to keep this mission alive.
